"A cozy little coffee shop with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the food is simple but really well done. A great spot to relax, enjoy a good coffee, and feel at home. It’s also child and dog friendly, which makes it an even better spot for small family trips"
"Very cute place to sit for the morning coffee, it's highly recommended to get the toast there."
"Muito bom! This place as a wonderful surprise! We stopped by and had some delicious Portuguese breakfast combo. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They were kind enough to exchange my order after I realized I’ve order a different sandwich. Thank you, I wish more places in Berlin had the same kindness. Ps, you can pay with card, which is just a perfect combo! Highly recommend."
"A great coffee shop with great coffee and great Staff! The sandwiches are warmed up fresh and the Pastel de Nata is very very good. Definitely will be going back"
"Small cozy bakery with portuguese products, such as Pastel de Nata, Bolo de Arroz, Sandes mistas e de chouriço, Compal fruit juices, and of course, coffee and traditional Galão (foamy coffee + milk). All of them fresh and delicious. They are open on Sundays, you can sit outside in the sun, or take-away to a nearby park. Also, you can even speak Portuguese with the wonderful friendly staff! Definitely recommend!"
"Had one the best pasteis de nata ever, crispy crusting with tasty filling. Lots of fresh sandwiches and other delicious pastry. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice seating outside with great views of a trendy street."
"The egg tart here is delicious. The outside has crunchy and flaky layers, and the inside is soft and creamy, just the way it should be. Sprinkle cinnamon on top - it’s amazing. Tastes very authentic, unlike the many other fake egg tarts out there these days. The galão is very milky and mild. Idk what the real thing is supposed to taste like, but I liked this one"
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (temporary rating) I’ve been coming to Galão for almost ten years — it’s always been my quiet refuge in Berlin. The coffee, the sandwiches, the calm — all perfect. But lately, the atmosphere has changed completely. The issue is The manager, has made the place genuinely unpleasant to visit. She dominates the room with a loud, intrusive voice that carries across the café, interrupts orders, and constantly talks over staff and customers. Interrupts orders, does not get Non-verbal communication doesn’t seem to register — every small action turns into an unnecessary conversation. It’s exhausting. She’s even moved the juicing machine out into the main seating area (it used to be sensibly tucked away in a back room), so now the peaceful café soundscape is replaced with grinding fruit and non-stop abrasive chatter. I say this as someone who loves this café — the coffee and food are still top-tier, and the younger staff are kind and professional. The sound tracks they chose keep my up to date. But the atmosphere that once made Galão special is gone under the current management. This is a temporary review because I genuinely hope things improve. Bring back the calm, and it’s right back to 5 stars — just not while the present manager is running the place."
